Ternat is home to our headquarters and the community where our people work every day. As part of our social commitment, we donated 40 laptops to the local authority of Ternat. Through the Digibank initiative, these devices will get a second life and help support residents in developing their digital skills.

Not everyone has access to reliable digital equipment at home, and not everyone easily finds their way in an increasingly digital society. The municipality of Ternat actively addresses these challenges through its Digibank initiative. The DigiPoint offers support for digital questions, while a laptop lending service provides residents without their own device with access to digital services, training, and information. Our laptops directly strengthen this lending service.

Extending the life of equipment
As a company, we use professional laptops that are periodically replaced. Instead of discarding them, we give these devices a second life where they can truly make a difference. For us, this is a natural and obvious choice.

Partnerships that make an impact
The collaboration between DHL eCommerce and the local authority of Ternat shows how local partners can make a tangible impact together. We give high-quality equipment a second life, while the municipality uses it to support residents who are not yet fully able to participate in today’s digital society. This initiative combines sustainability with social commitment and has a direct impact on the daily lives of Ternat’s residents.

Thomas Van der Elst, DHL Cares:
“As a company headquartered in Ternat, we want to make a positive contribution to the community we are part of. We are pleased that these laptops will reach places through the Digibank initiative where they can truly make a difference.”

Karolien Huylebroeck, Alderman for Integration in Ternat:
“Digital access is no longer a luxury, but a basic requirement for full participation in society. Thanks to this donation, we can support more residents with proper equipment and help them further develop their digital skills.”

As one for others
This initiative is supported by DHL Cares, our foundation through which we contribute to social projects and charities in the Benelux. Above all, it reflects a simple belief: when you are part of a community, you share responsibility for it.
